Earlier this year, the Israeli start up Aleph Cuts which includes Leonardo DiCaprio among its investors, received a game-changing kosher nod from The Chief Rabbi of Israel, David Baruch Lau, for its cultivated thin-cut beef steak. Their products will soon be sold in Europe and we can't wait to have them in the UK too!

We are heartbroken by the news of the passing of David 'Dugo' Leitner.🕯️
Dugo was only 14 when he started a 3-day walk, known as the "Death March". Walking barefoot in the snow from -Birkenau, what kept Dugo's spirits up was reminiscing about his mother’s cooking and dreaming of never being hungry again.
When he finally arrived in , Dugo's first meal was falafel, and since that day, every year on Jan 18th, he enjoyed falafel to celebrate his life and freedom.
We, at the Embassy, decided to honour his story by donating Falafel meals in his name, so that others too may not go hungry.
We would like to thank The Felix Project, Sant'Egidio International, Sant'Egidio London, The Wiener Holocaust Library, Homeless Action in Barnet and everyone across the UK who helped us spread Dugo's story over the past 3 years.
Dugo, aged 94, left a loving wife, two daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is already missed but will never be forgotten.

Our Head of the Civil Society Department, Hodaya Avzada was honoured to hear the stories of soldiers from an Paratroop Unit who visited West London Synagogue as part of the ‘Peace of Mind,’ rehabilitation programme.
This important programme brings entire Israel Defense Forces units abroad to process their collective trauma. It is only possible because of the warm hospitality of West London Synagogue and similar synagogues across the country, which host the soldiers.
It is a reminder of the close bond between communities worldwide and Israel’s heroes.
