You may have noticed that many GP surgery websites across Gloucestershire are currently offline due to their third-party website provider going into administration.
While surgeries work hard to get alternative systems or temporary pages up and running, we know how stressful this is. Here is what you need to know to access care and services in the meantime:
📱 Use the official NHS App: Even if your GP surgery’s website is down, the NHS App is fully working. You can still use it on your smartphone or tablet to:
Order repeat prescriptions
View your medical records and test results
Manage appointments (where supported by your practice)
📞 Contacting your GP directly: If you cannot use the NHS App, please contact your surgery by phone or visit reception in person.
💊 Local Pharmacies: You can check directly with your regular local pharmacy for help with repeat medication or advice on minor health conditions (via Pharmacy First).
🏥 NHS 111: For urgent medical advice when your surgery is closed—or if you aren’t sure where to go—use 111.nhs.uk or call 111.
As Greens, this situation highlights deeper concerns about outsourcing essential public digital infrastructure to private suppliers. But right now, our priority is making sure everyone gets the care they need.
Please share this post with friends, family, and neighbors who might be impacted! 💚
