🎯 PUT THROUGH HIS PACES!

Cdt Keras has been developing another new skill, taking part in Arms Drill training and learning the fundamental movements using the L98A2 Cadet General Purpose R***e.

Arms Drill combines discipline, concentration and precision, with safety at the forefront of the training. Designated Drill Purpose ri**es are used, and everyone taking part must have completed the required weapons safety training.

👏 Great effort from Cdt Keras as he continues to make the most of the opportunities available through cadets!

🎉 JNCO COURSE SUCCESS! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Cpl Lumley and Cdt Buckle, who recently took part in a JNCO Training & Development Course and both PASSED! 👏🙌

The course is an important step in developing our future cadet leaders, focusing on:

⭐ Leadership Transition – preparing cadets to step into their first positions of responsibility and authority within the Squadron.
💬 Skill Building – developing confidence, communication and interpersonal skills.
🎯 Understanding the Role – ensuring future JNCOs understand the expectations, boundaries and responsibilities that come with rank.

Both cadets should be incredibly proud of their achievement. Another great step forward in their cadet journey! 💙

👏 Well done Cpl Lumley & Cdt Buckle!

A huge thank you to Flt Lt Mark Harrison from 23 South Elmsall Squadron ATC for taking the time to visit 2357 (Goole) Squadron and deliver 2 engaging presentations on the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
It was fantastic to see such great participation from our cadets, with plenty of questions asked and lots of enthusiasm shown throughout the evening. We're especially pleased that so many cadets are eager to sign up and begin their own DofE journey.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award offers amazing opportunities for personal development, new experiences, adventure, and achievement, and we're excited to see our cadets take on the challenge.

Thank you again, Sir, for your support and for inspiring the next generation of DofE participants! 👏

🌟 National Cadet Week - Day 7: A Celebration of Our Cadets 🌟

As we come to the end of the very first National Cadet Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate each and every one of our amazing cadets.

Cadet life is filled with achievements both big and small. From that first nervous step through the door and enrolment night, to gaining classifications, learning new skills, taking on challenges, making new friends, and finding the confidence to stand up and speak in front of a group, every milestone matters.

Over the years, our cadets develop resilience, teamwork, leadership, self-belief, and memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you've earned badges, taken part in competitions, gone flying, represented the squadron, or simply pushed yourself outside your comfort zone, you should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved.

We certainly are. 💙

Thank you for your enthusiasm, commitment, and determination. You are the reason organisations like ours continue to thrive, and it is a privilege to watch you grow into confident young people.

👏 Well done to all our cadets - past, present, and future. You are all amazing, and we couldn't be prouder of you!

🌟 National Cadet Week - Day 6: Public Showcase 🌟

Although we weren't able to hold an open day this year, many members of our local community still get the opportunity to see our cadets in action at events throughout the area.

Whether we're showcasing our exciting STEM activities, inviting visitors to try our flight simulators, or putting on a drill display, we're always delighted to welcome people along to learn more about what the RAF Air Cadets has to offer.

We are incredibly proud of how our cadets interact with the public. They are a fantastic credit to 2357 (Goole) Squadron and excellent ambassadors for the RAF Air Cadets. Their confidence, professionalism, enthusiasm and willingness to engage with people of all ages help create a positive impression wherever they go.

Our cadets truly are the face of our squadron, and they represent the values of the RAF Air Cadets brilliantly every time they step out into the community.

Keep an eye out for us at local events and don't be afraid to come and say hello! ✈️🔬🎖️

🌟 National Cadet Week - Day 5: Skills for Life 🌟

Being a cadet is about so much more than uniforms and activities. It's about developing skills, confidence, and experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.

As part of National Cadet Week, we asked our cadets what being a cadet means to them and what skills they have gained that they will carry with them into the future.

From teamwork, leadership, resilience, and communication to confidence, self-discipline, and problem-solving, the skills learned through the RAF Air Cadets help prepare young people for whatever path they choose in life.
💙 Whether you're aiming for a career, further education, or simply looking to challenge yourself and make new friends, the experiences gained as a cadet will stay with you forever

National Cadet Week - Day 4: Cadets Save Lives ❤️⛑️

As part of National Cadet Week, today we're celebrating one of the most important skills a cadet can learn... First Aid.

At 2357 (Goole) Squadron, we're incredibly privileged to have two qualified staff members able to deliver Essential First Aid (EFA) training in-house, ensuring our cadets gain the confidence and skills needed to respond in an emergency.

Essential First Aid (EFA) is the foundation-level first aid qualification within the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and is a mandatory requirement for all new cadets and Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers. Successful completion earns the Blue First Aid Badge.

During the course, cadets learn vital life-saving skills including: ✅ Conducting a primary survey of a casualty
✅ Placing an unconscious casualty into the recovery position
✅ Performing CPR
✅ Responding to choking incidents
✅ Managing severe bleeding
✅ Recognising the signs of a heart attack and taking appropriate action

While we hope these skills are never needed, knowing what to do in those critical first few minutes can make all the difference and could one day save a life.

The RAF Air Cadets isn't just about adventure, flying, sport and leadership. It equips young people with practical skills, confidence and knowledge that can help their families, friends and wider communities.

Today's cadets are tomorrow's lifesavers.
