Save Grange Lido CBS Our mission is to restore and reopen this iconic Art Deco, grade II listed swimming pool on the promenade at Grange Over Sands.

This is the Official Page of Save Grange Lido Ltd, a Community Benefit Society (CBS) with charitable interests, a group of volunteers working to reinstate a stunning Art Deco Lido situated on the edge of Morecambe Bay. The Lido was built in 1932 and closed in 1993. It has a breath-taking location on the edge of the Lake District National Park looking over the stunning expanse of Morecambe Bay. It is the only surviving seaside Lido in the North of England.

"The moment you enter Grange, the highlands, the trees, the Bay, the mountains "in purple distance fair", the Promenade, the sweet little climbing street and the stone homesteads begin to give you delight, and never does the delight pass from memory." β˜€πŸŠ

This description of Grange over Sands was written in a 1930s brochure - and it's just as accurate today!

Whatever time of year, it's a beautiful place to be - here are a few photos of our beautiful town.

Throwback to the 1930s, and our lido's first years of operation! 🏊

Opened in 1932, it fast became popular with those seeking sun, sea and fresh air.

Thank you Diana Glew for these photos of a busy day at Grange Lido - a sight we dream of seeing once more, and continue to work towards.

Happy World Tourism Day! πŸŒŽπŸŠπŸ›Ÿ

Grange over Sands enjoys a strong history as a popular visitor destination, and our lido has been a key part of that story - featuring in visitor brochures and even hailed "the friendliest swimming pool in the north-west"!

We believe it can welcome tourists and locals once more & will keep working towards that goal πŸ’™
