Belvoir has been the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for one thousand years and is currently the family home of 11th Duke and Duchess and their five children. The castle and gardens make an idyllic setting for a wedding, or private party whilst the estate offers beautiful surroundings for field sports, product launches and an incredible array of public annual events.

Did anyone else lose their entire weekend to The Diplomat season 4? 👀 All four seasons are now streaming on Netflix UK & Ireland with Emmy-nominated Keri Russell, Allison Janney and Rufus Sewell.

If a certain room looked familiar, that’s because the Elizabeth Saloon at Belvoir Castle plays Windsor Castle in the series. Yes, really!

To the eagle-eyed locals who spotted the film crews here at the start of the year: this is what it was all for! 🎬

Paint the Town Red, Croxton Race Course, 10 October 🐎

The course is believed to have been installed in 1810 by the 5th Duke of Rutland. Its last race was in 1914, until last weekend, thanks to Charles Granby, who has worked to revive the racecourse over the last few months. It was truly great to see it back in use again.

The atmosphere on the day was amazing, and Alice Manners did Belvoir Castle & The Manners Family colours proud, finishing 2nd in her race.

The day also raised money for the Countryside Alliance, which supports rural communities and country life. Thank you to everyone who has generously donated so far, and to those who came and made the day what it was.

What’s on this Halloween at Belvoir Castle 🎃

A pesky witch appeared at Belvoir and cursed the adventure playground & animal park! Follow the playground trail around the Estate and see if you can spot every spell ingredient she’s left behind.

Pick up your trail sheet at the ticket office, included with your garden ticket, and when you’ve completed the trail a sweet treat will be waiting for you at Belvoir Farm Shop

Throughout October Half Term, join us for Halloween Crafting Sessions in The Balloon Bar for £4.50 per child.

This weekend is the last chance to visit Belvoir Castle before we close our doors for a little while. 🏰

From Monday, the Castle will be closed for private functions, and our team will be busy behind the scenes decorating for Christmas. It’s one of our favourite times of year, and we can’t wait to get started!

If you’ve been meaning to visit, now’s the time. We’d love to see you this Saturday or Sunday to wander through the castle one last time before it closes.

While the Castle is closed, the gardens, playground & Retail Village will be open as normal. So there’s still plenty to enjoy on the Estate, whether it’s a walk, a play, or a bit of fresh autumn air.

We look forward to welcoming you back into the Castle on Saturday 14th November, ready for Christmas. 🎄

Make the most of this weekend at Belvoir Castle 🍰☕🍕

From afternoon tea in the castle to pizza at Belvoir Bistro and a coffee while the little ones burn off energy in the adventure playground, there’s plenty to eat and drink across the Estate.

From Monday, the Castle closes so our team can start decorating for Christmas. We reopen on 14th November.
The Retail Village, Gardens & Adventure Playground remain open as normal.

The David Austin roses in the Rose Garden are coming into flower again. After the summer flush, the autumn blooms are opening now, and they’ll keep going as long as the weather allows.
