As many of you know FOLIC acid is due to be added to most uk flours in December to make it clear as a heritage mill and producing less than 500 ton per year we dont have to add it,, this was granted as the small mills could not add it for technical reasons and as the combined out put of the small mills is so small it would make no difference plus we also do not add artificial calcium and iron to our stone ground flour.

Update:

Here at Waltham Windmill we only produce small amounts of whole meal flour which contains small amounts of natural Folic acid and all the natural goodness of the grain, when white flour is produced this is removed then folic acid is added back in as a synthetic supplement
So we do not add anything to our flour it is milled using a pair of French burr stones sieved and bagged.

As we are a small heritage mill we only mill when we have the volunteers available and the weather is right so very small amounts of flour is produced I will add another post on here when we have some.

If you wish to help keep our heritage mill open then you could support us by becoming a member of our preservation society for a small yearly subscription, if you are interested please send me a message and I will send you details.

Thanks
