We were honoured to host Josh Reynolds MP (Maidenhead) and Chelsea Whyte PPC (Runnymede and Weybridge) last night at the Hand and Spear.

It was fascinating to hear their experiences of being so young in their roles. They reflected on how they were underestimated and sometimes not taken seriously, yet still prevailed. Young people deserve representation at all levels and they are both ensuring we are not overlooked.

It was also lovely to see Cllr Paul Follows (leader of West Surrey & South Middlesex shadow authority) as well as Zöe Franklin MP (Guildford). Their attendance says everything about how Liberal Democrats in Surrey truly care about the young people they represent!

Brexit was a disaster!

It’s time we rejoin the EU Customs Union and Single Market.

Our leader, Ed Davey wants the best for young people.

Here at Surrey Young Liberals, we ensure that young people are not an afterthought. If you are under 30 and want to help make meaningful change in your community, join us!

What a terrific conference we have had!

Such a wide variety of things to attend and many interesting discussions were had.

Whether you came to this conference or not, we at Surrey Young Liberals would highly recommend you come to the spring conference next year!

Day 1 of conference, completed ✅
On the first day of conference Ed Davey gave to me, fish and chips. We’ve had a very productive day of training sessions, fringes, speeches, voting in party policies and (most importantly) dancing at the disco. Conference is a key time of year to grow your political career, learn transferable professional skills and meeting people from all over the country, Europe and the world who support liberalism just as much as you do.

⚠️Social event⚠️ On the 23rd of October, we'll be hosting Joshua Reynolds MP (Maidenhead) and Chelsea Whyte (Runnymede) for an evening at *The Hand and Spear* in Weybridge from 7PM. They'll be talking about what it's like being an MP and PPC within the LibDems, being young and given that responsibility and answering questions that you may have. It is a great opportunity to learn how to get selected to represent your constituency, within the Party, councils and Parliament.

This event is open to all, so please forward this to your local parties and friends. The best part, its completely free for Young Liberals!

What a fun night!

Thank you to those that came to our bowling event last night at the Guildford Spectrum. We enjoyed two games of bowling, food and drink, and even ended up going ice skating!

Our next event is our games night on the 1st of October at the Caballo Lounge in Epsom (for more details, see our post from the 28th of July). We hope to see you there!
