What happens when a passion for dance becomes part of your day job?

For Bob, a Care Assistant at Anchor - St Edith's Court, it means bringing music, movement and plenty of encouragement to regular Zest sessions with residents.

Bob has been delivering Zest at the care home since completing his training, and says it’s his favourite part of the job.

“It’s my favourite part of the job. We all feel good after it.”

It’s lovely to see Bob using something he’s passionate about to help residents stay active, have fun and enjoy time together. 💜 Zest Wellbeing

Yesterday afternoon, our residents enjoyed a lovely arts and crafts workshop with Jane Thomas, getting creative with some autumn-inspired artwork! 🍂

Everyone had the opportunity to design their own hedgehog canvas, embracing the colours and beauty of the autumn season.

It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, expressing their creativity and enjoying an afternoon of artistic fun. Thank you to Jane for another lovely workshop! 🦔

Our residents have been busy at Knit and Natter, creating beautiful poppies in preparation for Remembrance Day. ❤️

It’s been lovely to see everyone coming together, sharing their skills and enjoying some mindful crafting while making these special symbols of remembrance.

Each poppy is made with care and thought, helping us prepare to remember and honour those who have served and sacrificed. 🌺

🍪 This afternoon, we celebrated International Baking Week by making our very own biscuits! Our residents had a lovely time rolling out the dough and cutting out heart and star-shaped biscuits. ❤️⭐

A big thank you to Phil and Niamh from our housekeeping team for all their help. Of course, we all had to try the finished biscuits, and they were absolutely delicious!

A lovely afternoon filled with teamwork, creativity and a well-deserved sweet treat! 🥰

Yesterday afternoon, we enjoyed another fantastic visit from Golf in Society! ⛳

Our residents got creative by designing their own golf balls before putting their skills to the test. We then finished with a fun competition, with prizes up for grabs! 🏆

Golf in Society is quickly becoming one of our most loved activities, bringing plenty of smiles, laughter and friendly competition to our home.

A huge thank you to Golf in Society for visiting us and making the afternoon so enjoyable for our residents. We can’t wait for the next one! 😊

Yesterday afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Year 4 pupils from Brackenfield School, one of our valued community links, to Manor House Harrogate!

The children came along to share some of the work they’ve been doing recently and enjoyed spending time colouring with our residents. It’s always a pleasure to see the smiles these visits bring, and we love seeing different generations come together, share experiences and create special memories.

Of course, we couldn’t let them leave without a little treat, so each child went home with a bag of sweets! 🍬

A big thank you to Brackenfield School for visiting us. We always look forward to welcoming you back! ❤️

Yesterday morning, we took two of our residents to St Wilfrid Harrogate’s Resurrected Bites Café for a lovely breakfast! 🌸

It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some delicious food, meet new people and have a good chat in a warm and welcoming community setting.

We think it’s so lovely to see initiatives like Resurrected Bites bringing people together, supporting the local community and making good use of donated food through their pay-as-you-can café. It’s a fantastic way to help people feel connected and included.

Being just 5 minutes around the corner from us, it’s also a perfect little outing for residents who prefer shorter trips or find longer days out a little tiring.

To make the morning even more special, our residents were gifted some beautiful pink roses to brighten up their bedrooms!

A huge thank you to everyone at St Wilfrid’s for the wonderful work you do and for making us feel so welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return soon to try lunch next time! 💗
