Sadly, there has been a recent increase in thefts from cars and vans across the Cleveland area. The biggest rise has been in Middlesbrough and Stockton.

As the dark nights draw in, here are some tips for keeping your vehicle secure.

👮Please remember to lock your vehicle every time you leave it unattended, and to remove any valuables. This reduces temptation for opportunist thieves.

🔎Check and check again, that your car is locked and the windows are up.

💡Park in a well-lit area.

🔒Use a steering wheel lock.
