🔋 We have encouraged West Sussex County Council to futureproof electric vehicle charging provision in Hassocks.
📋 Our Highways and Transportation Working Group responded to the County Council’s consultation with local evidence about where future public chargepoints may be most useful.
📈Hassocks has enough on-street and public car park charging for current demand, but convenient kerbside charging will become increasingly important as more people switch to electric vehicles.
🔎 We shared analysis of Hassocks’s household composition from the last Census, showing high concentration of flats and apartments in specific areas of the village, where home-charging will not be practical for residents without driveways.
➡️ Find out more about our evidence and suggestions to the consultation, as well as the County Council’s response:

Hassocks Parish Council has encouraged West Sussex County Council (WSCC) to ‘futureproof’ electric vehicle charging in the village, particularly around flats and apartments.

🌺 Remembrance Sunday is coming soon, and residents are warmly invited to join this year’s Hassocks commemorations on 8 November 2026.
⏰ The event begins at 1.30pm at Adastra Park car park, opposite the Memorial Gardens. The parade will march along Keymer Road, arriving at Keymer Church at around 2.00pm.
🕊️ Parish, County and District councillors will lay a wreath, and Scouts, Brownies and Cubs will each have a wooden cross to lay at the war memorial when names are called by Fr Alex Baxter.
🚧 To support the safe running of the event, Adastra Park car park will be closed in the morning, with further parade and road closure information to follow.
🤝 Whether you are taking part in the parade, attending the service or quietly marking the day, everyone is welcome to be part of this shared act of remembrance.
