The next Community Surgery will be held on Thursday 29th October. The surgery provides an opportunity to speak directly with a range of organisations offering support, advice and guidance on local issues.

Representatives attending will include:

🔹 Local housing associations
🔹 Greensand Social Prescriber
🔹 Involve
🔹 ADSS
🔹 Good Life Sorted

Whether you have concerns about anti-social behaviour, housing, crime prevention, health and wellbeing, or would simply like to find out more about the support available to you, please come along for a chat.

Our local Equine Officer will also be joining us, stationed with her horse at Parsonage Meadow. This is a great opportunity to meet her and find out more about her role.

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴
The next Planning and Licensing Committee Meeting will take place on Tuesday 20th October at 7pm.

𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The meeting will primarily be regarding a discussion of the revised planning application for the land at Lenham Road. The revised application no longer includes land for sports use but includes fewer houses and a reduced overall area.

Openreach - Temporary Road Closure - New House Lane, Headcorn - 7th December 2026 (Maidstone District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of New House Lane, Headcorn, from 7th December 2026 with estimated completion by 8th December 2026.

New House Lane, Headcorn, will be closed at the bottom of the track to Perrinwood, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via New House Lane, Water Lane, Moat Road, A274 North Street, A274 High Street, A274 Station Road, A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Biddenden Road, Bletchenden Road, Waterman Quarters, New House Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing fibre works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Kent County Council, it will be necessary to close part of Grigg Lane, Headcorn, from 8th December 2026 with estimated completion by 8th December 2026.

Grigg Lane, Headcorn, will be closed between the junctions of Baker Lane and Southernden Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grigg Lane, Oak Lane, Forge Lane, Lenham Road, Southernden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while allowing drainage works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Kent County Council.

We were recently quoted a rather eye-watering sum to have the play park professionally cleaned… so we thought, no thanks, we’ll do it ourselves!

So, armed with cleaning equipment and a bit of determination, our Clerks and Community Liaison Officer got stuck in and gave the play equipment a good clean.

The results speak for themselves!

We are still short of a few marshals for the Remembrance Parade and service. If you can spare a couple of hours to help with the road closures we would be very grateful.

Cadets open day on 8th October.

Celebrate National Cadets Week with Tenterden Army Cadets!

We'd like to invite you to our Open Evening on Thursday 8th October to meet our fantastic Cadets and Adult Volunteers.

Its a great chance for potential recruits to discover what life in the Army Cadet Force is really like. From fieldcraft, Duke of Edinburgh, and First Aid to music, BTECs and outdoor sports, there's something for everyone to build confidence and learn life skills.

It's also an ideal opportunity for parents and carers to pop in, chat with our adults leaders, ask questions, and see the practical benefits the ACF offers.

Whether you're keen to join or simply want to explore what we do, everyone is welcome
