Crafts in the Valley Crafts in the Valley offers textile and fused glass workshops near Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. Enjoy some Creative Escapism with Crafts in the Valley.

Crafts in the Valley offers creative textile and glass workshops in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire. Workshops are delivered by Melanie Louise, who is a fully qualified Art and Design teacher with a BA Hons degree in Fashion and Textiles. She has been delivering an exciting range of art and craft experiences to adults for the past five years. She is inspiring, friendly and a fabulous host with 5* reviews of Facebook and the Craft Courses website. Melanie previously managed Crafts Afloat, a social enterprise project delivering Art and Craft Workshop on a narrowboat art studio. Having now moved to dry land, Melanie runs most of her workshops from the Creative Chameleon Studiostudio in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge. Full and half day workshops and evening courses in Fused Glass and Textiles are offered regularly. As well as learning a range of creative skills, a workshop with Crafts in the Valley is a really special day out. You will leave feeling relaxed, inspired and a little bit spoilt! 'Tis the Season to Sparkle.... ❄️✨
Here is how to brighten up the start of Winter. A lovely selection of fused glass workshops at the Crafts in the Valley studio near Hebden Bridge. With 8 different workshops on offer, you'll be sure to find something to suit your crafting fancy.
There will be mince pies, and mulled w**e a'plenty. The kilns will be working harder than santa's eleves to bring you beautiful fused glass goodies. Your glasswork can be Christmas themed or suitable for all year round.

Here are the latest Makers Monday makes ♥️ For one reason and another it took a while to fire all these beauties, apologies for the waiting suspense! These gorgeous pieces of glass are definitely worth the wait ☺️

There's still chance to join the makers sessions before Christmas, it's a perfect opportunity to make handmade presents.

Felted Pictures at Crafts in the Valley
What a lovely busy class creating watercolours in wool! Thank you to everyone who attended the class.
In this workshop we experimented with wet felting, needle felting and free-motion machine embroidery.
There will be no more textile classes until next year now. I'll be back in 2027 with more textile classes. It's full steam ahead now for a sparkly Winter as we move into the Festive Fused Glass season ✨️

My textile classes start back in January 2027, with plans to introduce new textile classes next year.
The next Batik workshops are on Saturday 17th January and Sunday 14th February.

I've planned a busy Festive Fused Glass season, filled with SPARKLE! All the workshops are listed on my website at www.craftsinthevalley.co.uk
The Christmas theme is optional, guests can choose to create glasswork that can be enjoyed all year round.

Batik Textiles - this coming Saturday 10th October. I have three places available for this workshop! This is the last Batik workshop I'm running in 2026, so I hope someone will snap up these last few places.

The Batik examples are all created by past guests who were complete beginners! It is a such a lovely workshop, experimenting with wax resist, traditional wax drawing tools, and lots of beautiful colourful procion dyes.

In November and December it will be all about the festive fused glass. I'll be back with more textiles in 2027!

What a beautiful, creative weekend at Woodland Tipi & Yurt Holidays Craft Weekends at Woodland Tipis and Yurts
This gorgeous event always marks the change in seasons, time to say a gentle goodbye to summer, and welcome the cosy autumn days 🍂

Over the years Annabel Tinkan Designs has developed this lovely gathering of creative souls who love crafts, nature, yoga, massage, camp fires, hot tubs and connecting with like minded people in the woods. The weekend attracts the same guests time after time, with new people joining and usually returning again. It was lovely to see familiar and new faces, and have so many fantastic conversations and creative interactions with people 💚🙏💙

My first attempt at a fructose indigo dye vat made in the woods threw up a few challenges, keeping it warm and balancing the alchemy was quite tricky! We achieved some lovely egg shell blues, not quite the intense dark denim tones I was hoping for, but it demonstrated the process and the possibilities 💙🙏💚

After the crafts on Sunday I had an indulgent five hour hot tub session with one of my besties, my most extraordinarily talented friend Tasha ❤️ Natasha Block Hicks

Thanks to everyone who made it such a lovely weekend 💙🙏💚🍂
