Motorists are being advised of an overnight closure on the M27 eastbound between Junctions 4 and 7 to allow final technology testing as part of the M27 Junctions 5–7 concrete overlay scheme.

Diversion Route: • Follow the M3 northbound to Junction 13
• Continue via the A335/Wide Lane to the A27
• Follow the A27 eastbound and rejoin the M27 at Junction 8

⚠️ Drivers are urged to allow extra time for their journeys and plan ahead.

Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Gosport Motorcyclist Killed on M27.

The family of Richard Skilton, who tragically lost his life in a collision on the M27, have paid an emotional tribute to a devoted family man, proud Royal Navy veteran and passionate motorcyclist.

The 66-year-old from Gosport died following a collision involving his black and white Triumph motorcycle on the eastbound carriageway between Junctions 11 and 12 on 16 October.

In a touching tribute, his family described him as a devoted husband, loving father of five and proud grandfather of ten, with another grandchild on the way whom he would sadly never meet.

They remembered him for his distinguished Royal Navy career, his dedication to serving his country, and the love he showed to his family and friends throughout his life.

“His memory will live on with love, pride and respect,” the family said.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information about the collision to contact them on 101, quoting reference 44260508127.

An inquest has opened into the death of 19-year-old James Smith, who died on the M3 near Junction 12 in Hampshire on October 12.

Wi******er Coroner’s Court heard that Mr Smith, from Upham, was found on the carriageway and a post-mortem examination recorded a preliminary cause of death as severe multiple injuries.

The inquest was formally opened and adjourned to a later date.

Hampshire Police previously said officers were called after reports that a man had fallen from the Allbrook Way bridge in Eastleigh onto the M3.

Emergency services attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A collision involving two vehicles was also reported following the incident.

Body Found at Southampton Reservoir as Coroner Investigation Begins.

The body of a man believed to be in his 40s was discovered at Mansbridge Reservoir in Southampton on Monday morning.

Floral tributes have since been left at the site near the River Itchen as the community remembers the man.

Emergency services were called to the reservoir at around 9.30am, where the man was found deceased.

Police have confirmed that his next of kin have been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

The coroner will examine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Southamption : Parents Fined £7,200 After Allowing Teen Son to Work in Family Food Trailer.

A Hampshire couple have been fined after admitting they allowed their 14-year-old son to work in the family's mobile food trailer in breach of county byelaws.

Karen and Greg Olejarka pleaded guilty at Magistrates' Court to offences relating to under-16s working in commercial kitchens.

The pair were each fined £600 and ordered to contribute £6,000 towards legal costs.
The family maintained they were nurturing their son Dexter's passion for cooking, which began when he was 12, and argued that his education had not been affected.

However, District Judge Anthony Callaway highlighted concerns over the teenager using deep-fat fryers, knives and working in a profit-making commercial kitchen.

Body of Man in His 40s Found at Southampton Reservoir.

A man in his 40s has been found dead at the Mansbridge Reservoir area in Southampton.

Emergency services attended the scene after the body was discovered at the fishing spot, which is owned by Southampton City Council.

An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

Eastleigh Borough Prepares for Remembrance Events.

Eastleigh Borough will honour those who gave their lives in two world wars and more than 70 other conflicts with a series of Remembrance events in November.

The civic Service of Remembrance will take place on Sunday, 8 November, at the Eastleigh War Memorial in Leigh Road Recreation Ground.
Residents are invited to join the Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Richard Gomer, at the 10.50am service, organised by the Eastleigh, Chandler’s Ford & District Branch of the Royal British Legion.

The service will be preceded by a parade through the town centre, setting off from Market Street at 10.30am.
