An election for Helston Town Council will take place on Thursday 19th November 2026.

Your Town Council makes decisions about local services and events in Helston, and this election is your chance to have your say on who represents you.

To vote, you need to be on the electoral register. The deadline to register is Tuesday 3rd November 2026.

If you have moved house, changed your name or have never registered, apply now at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. You will need your National Insurance number, and it takes about five minutes.

You can’t check your registration status online. If you are unsure whether you are registered, contact Cornwall Council Electoral Services on 0300 1231 115 or email [email protected].

Helston's Service of Remembrance:

The service will commence promptly, with two minutes of silence observed at 11am to remember the bravery and sacrifice of past and present service members. All are welcome.

Printed Orders of Service will be available to collect from The Guildhall from Monday, 2nd November. Accessible, large-print versions are also available, just ask at reception when you arrive and we will print one for you. Our office is open 9am–4pm, Monday to Friday.

Members of the public may speak for up to 3 minutes each, with a total of 15 minutes allocated for public participation at each meeting.

Make your response count.

The consultation on the draft Helston Neighbourhood Priorities Statement closes at 12 noon on Monday 23rd November 2026.

Once approved, the statement will be submitted to Cornwall Council, which will use it to help shape the next Cornwall Local Plan. This is your chance to say whether the draft reflects Helston's priorities, and what should change, before that happens.

The online form takes a few minutes and does not ask for your name or address: www.helston-tc.gov.uk/NPS

You can also respond by picking up a paper form from The Guildhall (or printing one at home) and returning it in person or by post, or by emailing your completed form (filled in digitally, scanned or photographed) to [email protected].

Comments made on social media will not be recorded as consultation responses. Please use one of the routes above so that your views are counted.

We were at King George V Playing Fields yesterday to help replace the trees lost in Storm Goretti.

New trees are now in the ground, ready to spend the winter rooting down. Thank you also to Knott’s and All, Cirk Hes and the Roaming Barista for joining us on the day!

We look forward to watching the new trees grow in the years ahead and enjoying the wonderful owl scultpture made from one of the fallen trees.

Helston Town Council North Ward by-election: candidates confirmed

Cornwall Council has published the Statement of Persons Nominated for the Helston Town Council North Ward by-election, which takes place on Thursday 19th November 2026.

If you live in North Ward and are registered to vote, you’ll be able to have your say on 19th November. Information about polling stations, postal votes and proxy votes is available from Cornwall Council Electoral Services at www.cornwall.gov.uk/elections or on 01872 322222.
