Join us for the Hertford Castle Guided Tours and discover the fascinating history of Hertford’s iconic landmark.

Led by the wonderful Friends of Hertford Castle volunteers, who have a wealth of historical knowledge, the tour will take you inside and outside the Castle as you explore its rooms and uncover stories spanning centuries – from William the Conqueror to the present day.

📅 Sunday 26 October
⏰ Tours every 30 minutes from 12pm, with the final tour at 3.30pm
⏱️ Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes
👥 Maximum 20 people per tour
🎟️ £5 per person

All proceeds will go towards the Mayor of Hertford Appeal Fund.

Please note: Due to the Castle’s steep spiral staircase, the tour is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users, prams or those with restricted mobility. Only guide dogs are permitted inside the Castle.

Rock at the Castle returned with a bang on Sunday!

With fantastic crowds, glorious sunshine and amazing live music across all three stages, Hertford Castle was buzzing from start to finish. The feedback has been incredible, and Hertford Town Council is so pleased so many of you enjoyed the day.

🌟A huge thank you to our incredible performers, stallholders, volunteers, security team, St John's Ambulance, sponsors, McMullen's Brewing & Pubs and Duffield Harrison LLP and everyone who came along and made the day so special.

🌟A special thank you to Koncept Productions, The Kevolution and for providing the sound, staging and production across all three stages.

🌟The Council is proud to have supported Home-Start Hertfordshire. Donations are still being counted, and we'll share the total raised very soon.

🎶 The countdown is on! Join us next Sunday for a fantastic day of live music, festival vibes and entertainment for everyone.

🧸🧺☀️ What a fantastic turnout for this year's Teddy Bears' Picnic! 🧸🧺☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Hertford Castle on Sunday. The glorious sunshine, colourful displays and smiling faces made for a fantastic afternoon, with the Castle grounds buzzing with families enjoying everything on offer.

🤹🪄From special teddy bear appearances and the ever-popular Teddy Bear Zipline, to canoeing on the River Lea, circus skills, magic shows and arts and crafts, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

🎉A special thank you to everyone who dressed up their teddy bears for the Mayor's Teddy Bear Parade, and congratulations to our winners! The creativity that went into so many of the entries was wonderful to see, and we're sorry there couldn't be more prizes to give out! We loved seeing so many fantastic contestants and hope you'll be back next year to take part again.

🎉A huge thank you to all of our wonderful entertainers, activity providers, stallholders and volunteers for helping to create such a memorable day. And of course, thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event – we hope you and your teddy bears had an amazing time! 🧸

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Hertford Castle B**r and World Food Festival! 🍻🌯

With the sun shining down and smiles all around, the Castle lawn was full of people enjoying delicious food from around the world, a great selection of beers and drinks, live music and a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day.

A huge thank you to all of our food and drink vendors, performers, volunteers and everyone who helped make the event such a success.
