Hertford Library The local library for our County town Donate to Hertfordshire Libraries

It’s now easy to donate online to the library service by visiting our website.

We are often offered donations of money by users who wish to show their appreciation for the service. Those who visit the library are able to do this in person. Now you can also support the library service by donating online. You don't have to donate. Hertfordshire Libraries are a universal and free service to the community. Your decision to donate is an entirely voluntary one. We ask that you donate only as much as you feel comfortable with. You may want to consider either a one-off payment or more frequently.

It’s Get Online Week! The ideal time to share how people can get online easier.

Lots of broadband providers offer discounted 'social tariff' deals, some as low as £15 per month.

Social tariffs are discounted or cheaper broadband and mobile deals for people on Universal Credit and other benefits. These tariffs are delivered in the same way as normal packages, just at a lower price.

🌿🏡 A greener home starts at your local library!
Could your home be losing heat without you knowing? 🌡️
To mark Green Libraries Week, East Herts Libraries is helping residents take a closer look at their home’s energy efficiency.
This winter, you can borrow a thermal imaging camera for free from participating libraries and discover where heat might be escaping from your home.
The camera can help you identify:
🔹 Draughts
🔹 Gaps in insulation
🔹 Cold spots
🔹 Other areas where heat may be lost
Spotting where heat escapes can help you decide which improvements could make your home warmer, more energy efficient and potentially reduce wasted energy.
📚 Available to borrow from libraries in Bishop’s Stortford, Buntingford, Hertford, Sawbridgeworth and Ware.

Did you know that the library offers IT Taster sessions for digital beginners?

Our tutors can help people take their first digital steps on a computer and tablet in a one-hour taster session. These sessions are structured, friendly and supportive, and you go home with increased confidence and a handy booklet.

Hertfordshire County Council is running a consultation on 20mph speed limits - whether, and where, these may be right for Hertford. To find out more, why not attend one of their two events that are being held on 17th October at Panshanger parkrun and 19th October at Hertford Library - details below. Hertford Town Council will be discussing this issue at its next Full Council meeting.
