Our gardeners are hard at work lifting the summer bedding as we prepare the gardens for their autumn transformation. The segments and rectangular beds are the first to be refreshed, while tender plants like cannas and dahlias are carefully moved under cover for the colder months.

Perennials are staying put, with even more being planted soon, and hundreds of bulbs are waiting in the wings ready to burst into colour next spring.

And nothing goes to waste. Any bedding plants we can't reuse are composted, helping us make the most of every plant in our gardens. 🌱♻️

Bringing a little whimsy to Hughenden.

After all, even the most historic places deserve a little fun. We thought a few googly eyes might be just the thing to bring our everyday objects to life.

Did we already have a stash of googly eyes ready to go? …possibly.
