MUSICAL TRIP TO EDINBURGH

🎶🎪🎺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎻🎹🍂🌟

S2 pupils traveled to the Edinburgh Festival Theatre to see Barnum the Circus Musical. Exploring themes of showmanship and the pursuit of the American Dream the story demonstrated the enduring power of optimism and imagination. 💫

The group had lunch at Edinburgh Street Food and enjoyed an autumnal walk through the city.

OPEN MIC IN THE MILL

The Mill came alive for our second Open Mic event last week.

The space was packed and the energy was high! Well done to all the performers who took to the stage and thanks to the audience who cheered them on!

Don’t worry if you missed it - there will be another Open Mic in The Mill soon!

HIGHER RMPS

Our Higher Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies (RMPS) pupils had a really interesting and thought-provoking visit to HMP Inverness, giving them the chance to experience a prison environment and see how some of the issues explored in the classroom connect to real life.

Pupils were shown around the facility and had the opportunity to speak with prison officers about their roles, life in prison and the importance of rehabilitation. They also heard about the challenges of working in custody, as well as the sense of purpose and meaningful impact that can come from supporting people and helping them make positive changes in their lives.

The visit gave pupils much to think about, particularly when considering questions around the causes of crime, rehabilitation and the purpose of punishment. It was great to see them engaging with these issues and asking thoughtful questions.

A huge thank you to the staff at HMP Inverness for taking the time to speak with our pupils, and for providing such a valuable experience.

We look forward to continuing this experience next year with a visit to the new HMP Highland facility.
