It's the last week of Our Clean River 2025, and we are going back to Bradford Beck in Shipley.
Our volunteers will tackle litter and fly-tipping in Bradford Beck along the Shipley Greenway. A lot of rubbish has been thrown into the river and washed down from further upstream, getting embedded in the banks of the beck. It's important that we pull this litter out to help clean up this grot spot!
If you would like to get involved and finish Our Clean River 2025 with a bang, please contact us at [email protected]

There has been plenty of engagement with our post from earlier in the week. Thank you so much for all the offers to support the work of the Friends group. You guys have a lot of love for the Reserve! Hopefully in the future we will be welcomed back onto the Reserve to carry on our works and if so we'd be delighted to take up your offers of help. At the moment we are awaiting publication of Skipton Properties' Enhancement Plan for the Reserve and subsequent discussions on what might happen next.

We've had a few messages into the Page about the current state of the Reserve. New residents of the development have complained that the area is an eyesore. Just to reiterate that this land is privately owned. The previous owners, Airedale Springs, kindly allowed the area to be used as a nature reserve and our Friends group worked voluntarily over a period to improve the land for nature. When Skipton Properties bought the land the work of the Group was suspended. There has been dialogue about the future of the reserve between SP and local interest including the parish council and Aire Rivers Trust. We'll keep you all appraised of any progress.

Hi folks. A few people have been in touch to ask if the group is still active. We have been on "pause" for the last year at the request of the landowners (Skipton Properties). Many thanks.
