🩵💚 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨, 𝗖𝗢-𝗢𝗣 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗦! 💚🩵

Over the last 12 months, your support through the 𝗖𝗼-𝗼𝗽 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 has helped raise an incredible £2,986 for Warwickshire Search and Rescue! 🎉

A huge thank you to every Co-op member who chose us as their local cause. Your support makes a real difference, helping our volunteer team continue searching for missing people and supporting our local community when they need us most.

As a volunteer-led charity, every penny helps us maintain our equipment, train our volunteers and be ready when the call for help comes. 🚑🔦

From everyone at 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲, thank you for choosing us, believing in what we do and helping us make a difference. 💚

📍 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗨𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦? 🚁🐕🌳

𝗪𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 is looking to expand our range of suitable locations for team search exercises across 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 and the surrounding areas.

We’re keen to hear from landowners, farmers, businesses, organisations and anyone who might have a suitable site — or know someone who does!

Ideally, we’re looking for locations offering a variety of search environments, including:
🌳 Woodland and paths/routes
🌾 Open fields and land
💧 Banks and areas near water
🚁 Areas suitable for drone exercises
🐕 Locations suitable for search dog training

Suitable parking is essential, either on-site without taking up too many spaces or nearby, where we could arrange transport to and from the exercise area.

We’re unlikely to need the same location more than once a year, and we’re happy to explore options we may not have considered.

📣 Please share this post or tag someone who might be able to help. Even an unusual suggestion could be exactly what we’re looking for!

If you have land, a location or an idea, please get in touch by direct message or contact Warwickshire Search and Rescue.

Thank you for helping our volunteers train to support those who need us. ❤️

🍁🌧️ 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲! 🌊🏃‍♂️

Another busy Friday night for Warwickshire Search and Rescue!

Our trainees and operational members needing a refresher completed 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 training, learning how to search safely near water and reviewing Lowland Rescue guidance for both Search Technicians and Bank Searchers.

Meanwhile, other members took on their 5 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 2 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁… don’t worry folks, we smashed it in just 1.5 hours! 💪

Five miles in the dark, in the rain? Just another Friday night for ! 🌧️🔦

Last night, our fundraising team came together to share ideas, plan future activities and explore new ways to support Warwickshire Search and Rescue.

As a volunteer-led charity, fundraising is vital in helping us maintain our equipment, vehicles and training so we can continue supporting those who need us most.

💡 𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂! Have you got an idea for a fundraising event, challenge or activity you’d love to see us take on? Drop your suggestions in the comments — we’d love to hear them!

🌊 Water Safety in Action!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of delivering a water safety talk at ForgeCare.

Our team shared vital advice on how to:
🛟 Self-rescue if you find yourself in the water
🤝 Safely help someone who is in difficulty
🪢 Use throw lines to assist someone in the water

Knowing what to do in an emergency can make all the difference. We’re proud to share our knowledge and help keep our communities safe.

A big thank you to Forge Care for welcoming us! 💚

🎃 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: Have Fun, Stay Safe! 👻

For children, Halloween means costumes, sweets and plenty of excitement! 🍬

If you’re heading out trick-or-treating this year, a little planning can help everyone enjoy a safe evening.

🔦 Carry a torch so you can see and be seen.
✨ Be visible – choose costumes and accessories that drivers can spot easily.
👨‍👩‍👧 Supervise younger children and keep them close.
🚗 Take extra care near roads and always use safe crossing points.
📱 Keep phones charged for older children heading out with friends.
📍 Plan ahead – agree where you’re going and what time you’ll be home.

From all of us at Warwickshire Search and Rescue, have fun, make memories and look out for one another this Halloween! 🧡

📚 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 | Trainee Development

This week, our Friday night training session was dedicated to our trainees, focusing on the legal framework that underpins Search & Rescue operations. 🚨

Our trainees explored the important responsibilities and requirements that guide our work, including:

🔎 Which statutory agency has primacy in missing person investigations
🚗 Road traffic standards when travelling to and from incidents
🏞️ Legal access to land and property during searches
🔐 Data protection and the secure storage of personal information
🇬🇧 How Search & Rescue is established and managed across the UK
🤝 The committees and working groups of UKSAR
🧭 The four national responsibilities of Lowland Rescue

And the learning doesn’t stop there! This training will be extended to cover our Health & Safety Policy, Fire Safety arrangements, Lone Worker Policy and an introduction to the latest Lowland Rescue Approved Code of Practice (ACoP).

Building knowledge, understanding and confidence is essential to ensuring our volunteers are ready to operate safely, professionally and effectively when called upon to help find missing people. 💛🖤

🤝 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲! 💜

Members of 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 were delighted to be invited to attend Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We had the opportunity to share how the Women of Warwickshire play vital roles across our team, the contributions they make, and the realities of balancing their volunteering commitments with the demands of everyday life.

It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the women who help keep our communities safe, share experiences, and recognise the dedication, skills and commitment they bring to emergency services. 👏

Thank you to 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 for inviting us and creating the opportunity to connect, learn and celebrate women in emergency services.
