Here’s your Halloween weekend sorted! 👻🎃💀

Earlier this week, I met up with one of my best friends, Carrie, as she had a special gift for Home-Start Kettering Area🧡💜

Carrie decided at the beginning of the year that every time she did a food shop she would buy something to go to a Charity, and she is giving a third of her collection to Home-Start Kettering Area.

Thank you so much Carrie for your generousity 💜

The Charity is currently looking for Christmas donations for the families they are looking after.

Can you help Home-Start Kettering Area support local families this Christmas by donating any of the following?

💜Brand New Toys/Gifts for all ages from birth to 18.
💙Luxury Christmas Hamper Items (Chocolates, Treats etc)
🧡Selection Boxes
💚Wrapping Paper
💛Food Donations (Long Life or Frozen Food)
❤️Christmas Puddings
🖤Gifts for parents or any other new unopened items you would like to gift to a family at Christmas

All donations can be dropped into their office weekdays 9am - 2pm. Or Amazon can deliver straight to their door! For larger donations we can arrange to collect.

How beautiful is our Train Station!

A huge thank you to the volunteers at the Kettering Civic Society for the festive floral arrangement! 🎃🌺

The weather didn’t stop Northamptonshire Day at The Lighthouse Theatre. 🎭

On Sunday evening, I went along to Lighthouse Live with fellow local Councillor Dez Dell. 🎵

It was a fab event showing off local Kettering talent, dancing, Opera and Theatre classics. I especially enjoyed hearing ‘Chatiot’ I have seen Gavin De Graw in concert and the rendition was awesome!🎤

A huge thank you to all the volunteers that made this event happen and for keeping the spirit of Northamptonshire Day alive! ❤️

On Saturday, we braved the storm and went on the Halloween trail🎃

When we picked up the leaflet at Kettering Library we popped into The Alfred East Gallery, so my daughters could pick out their favourite paintings- they loved the huge landscape paintings🖼️

It was spookily great to see so many shops with their Halloween decorations! 👻

Don’t make the mistake we did and think it’s a jumble, as it’s been in previous years- this time search for the icon💀

The Kettering Town Council Halloween Trail is on until 31st October 🎃💀👻

On Friday, I went along to the opening of the third floor of Lucky Chuck's🍀

It’s just awesome! ⭐️

There’s a purpose built karaoke lounge (where nobody wants to hear me sing) virtual archery ( where you can pretend to be Merida) and bowls (for a more laid back vibe) and some new pinball machines (where I just hit buttons randomly but really enjoy) 🎯🎮🎱

Lucky Chucks only opened in January and yet they’ve become a huge part of the local Kettering community. They support local events and charities and have put on soooo many events in-house. 🥳

Lucky Chucks you just keep raising the bar!

Home-Start Kettering Area are looking for new volunteers! 💜🧡

We support families in their home, not many other services have the opportunity to see what goes on in a child’s life after school. Often, schools will ask for support for a family for things such as helping to get to school on time, or help to support a child's education at home, maybe because a child doesn't do their homework, or comes to school with the wrong uniform. It isn't until we visit and discover what the real issues are, that we can truly help, not by putting a sticky plaster over the issues, but by helping to find a way for the family to mend.

Could you volunteer for us and help change a child’s life? Get in touch, the next preparation course starts soon!

Yesterday, I went along to the reopening of the Alfred East Gallery.

What more can I say than it feels amazing to have an art gallery back in our Town! 🖼️

Art is a part of what makes us human. Stone Age people painted in caves, and it is intrinsically apart of us.

Now we ince again have somewhere in our Town to celebrate the arts.

A huge thank you to everyone that made this happen- I can’t wait to see what happens next. ⭐️
