101 Force Support Battalion REME This is the official page of 101 Force Support Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, a Reserve unit of the British Army.

REME is responsible for fixing all the Army’s kit including; weapons, trucks, tanks and helicopters. In order to do this around the world, REME tradesmen are trained to the highest level as both soldiers and technicians gaining civilian qualifications in the process. As a REME soldier you will develop leadership and management skills that will also compliment your civilian career. Opportunities
•Trades: Vehicle Mechanics, Recovery Mechanics, Metalsmiths, Armourers, HR Specialists, Chefs, Technical support specialist.
•Travel: Canada, Cyprus, Kenya, Belize, Brunei, Austria, Germany.
•Qualifications: e.g. NVQ’s, City & Guilds, Modern Apprentice scheme.
•Extra money: Bonuses paid on completion of each phase of training and yearly bounty.

👀 So… what else have we been up to?

Our planning team has just wrapped up the recce for Ex LAMASSU BATTLEFIELD 26, travelling through Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg to make sure everything’s set for what promises to be an incredible battlefield study later this year.

From the Dragons Teeth on the Siegfried Line to the Fox Holes of the Ardennes Forest made famous by the men of Easy Company, the recce took us across key sites that shaped the Battle of Bulge — each one giving us powerful insight into the battles fought here.

A fantastic recce that sets the stage for an unforgettable battlefield study!

Today, on National Reservists Day, 101 Battalion REME proudly recognises the dedication, professionalism and commitment of our Army Reservists.

Balancing civilian careers, family life and military service, our Reservists play a vital role in maintaining operational readiness and delivering engineering excellence wherever they are needed. Their skills, resilience and willingness to serve make a significant contribution to both the Battalion and the wider Army.

We thank all our Reservists, past and present, for their service and commitment. Your efforts strengthen our team, support our mission and exemplify the values and standards of the British Army.

Come orienteering with us!

This weekend, 130 Detached Platoon based in , tested their navigation skills at Studland Dunes.

Using the permanent orienteering course there, they worked as a group to navigate over the complex terrain.

Orienteering is a great sport for all fitness abilities and ages. You can get involved near you by searching the British Orienteering Federation website here:

🇬🇧 D-DAY 82 | WE REMEMBER 🇬🇧

Today, as members of 101 Bn REME visited the Royal Marine Memorial, we reflected on the courage, sacrifice and determination of those who took part in the D-Day landings on 6 June 1944.

We remember all those who gave their lives before, during and after D-Day, whose service and sacrifice helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

We also remember the three Royal Navy personnel lost this week during a training exercise: Lieutenant Commander Chris Gayson, Lieutenant Lily-Mae Fisher and Petty Officer Owen Green. They embodied everything that continues to unite and strengthen our Armed Forces.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

This weekend our Reservists are conducting annual training. One element of this is learning how to use a Vallon to detect metallic objects that could form part of explosive ordnance. This vital skill saves lives and forms part of the wider learning that our soldiers conduct every year.
