As part of Hampshire County Council’s annual Planned Maintenance programme, preparation for carriageway resurfacing will be carried out in The Dell, Kingsclere, from its junction of Basingstoke Road to the public highway boundary adjacent to no 28, at the end of the cul-de-sac.

The preparation works are scheduled to begin on 21st September 2026 and are expected to take 4 days, with road closures to all traffic between 09:00 – 16:30hrs. The road will remain open outside these hours.

Following completion of these works, the carriageway resurfacing is provisionally programmed to take place on 16th November 2026 and expected to take 2 days with road closures to all traffic between 09:00 – 16:30hrs. The road will remain open outside these hours.

Advance warning signs will be installed ahead of the works commencing. In addition, local residents and businesses will receive the attached postcard, which directs them to our webpage for detailed information about the planned works. Kingsclere Community Orchard
Damsons and plums should be ready from late August to early September, with apples and pears following from September onwards. Fruit is ready to pick when it comes away from the tree easily with a gentle twist. There are already plenty of fallen apples, perfect for crumbles and pies, and the hedgerows are also worth a look for blackberries, blackcurrants and gooseberries.
