Therfield School A mixed comprehensive school for students aged 11–18 in Leatherhead, Surrey. The Best for All - Excellence, Leadership, Opportunity Best Wishes

James Malley

Message from the Headteacher:
I am privileged and honoured to be Therfield’s Headteacher. Every day I am impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm of students and staff to ensure that the school really does provide, “The Best for All - Excellence, Leadership, Opportunity”

In my visits to lessons I've been delighted by the high quality teaching and learning I've observed and am impressed that the students at Therfield are rising to my challenge that they have impeccable manners and are always polite and courteous. The school has achieved excellent academic results at GCSE and A Level over recent years. This has included GCSE results which continue to exceed national expectations with a value added measure score for student progress of well over 1000 (the national benchmark) as well as AS and A2 results that are in the top 25% of the whole country. As a staff group we are committed to ensuring that every student can achieve their very best in all exams. At Therfield our goal is to help young people develop the skills, knowledge, qualifications, character, and ambition to become outstanding citizens able to access opportunities and life chances. We want them to become adults of whom you and we are proud; individuals who make positive contributions in the world in which they live and who become true leaders. Therfield is a family school where themes of respect, tolerance, fair play, good manners, and hard work can be seen in action every single day. I write a blog every few weeks which provides updates on what’s happening at Therfield. This is in addition to all the news and information you can access on the website. Of course the best way to really understand what a school is like is to visit it. I strongly encourage you to visit Therfield to see our great school in action. Please call the main office on 01372 818123 or email [email protected] to arrange your visit.

Therfield School - Sixth Form Cricket Open Evening - 23rd September

Calling all Year 10 and 11 students that have a passion for cricket - our Sixth Form Cricket Open Evening is on 23rd September. Come along to find out more - details are on our website: www.therfield.surrey.sch.uk

We are delighted to be collaborating with Surrey County Cricket Club on a Sixth Form programme that offers young people access to high-quality cricket coaching, alongside strength and conditioning training, while completing their Sixth Form studies.

In addition to providing elite cricket coaching and academic studies, the programme helps students gain an understanding of cricket as a business through a range of employability workshops and accredited courses. This unique curriculum offers opportunities to develop vocational and life skills in areas such as hospitality, coaching, media, groundskeeping, and more.

Having run this programme for two years Therfield School will be looking to welcome students onto the cricket programme for the September 2027 intake.

Open Evening 2026

It has been wonderful to welcome so many prospective students and families into our school. We were especially proud of our students, who did an amazing job showcasing their school, sharing their stories, and helping visitors get a real feel for our Therfield community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening so memorable. We loved showing what makes our school such a fantastic place for our students and community.
