Free Christmas parking in Royston! 🤶🧑‍🎄🎄🚗

From 23 November to 24 December, enjoy free parking in participating car parks run by us and Royston Town Council, thanks to our partnership with Royston Town Council and Royston First.

The initiative aims to make visiting the town centre a little easier during the busy run-up to Christmas, giving people more opportunity to enjoy the town, spend time with family and friends, and support local businesses.

The dark magic of North Herts is revealed 🔮 in: Museum District Treasures ep. 10 💰

Happy Halloween! 🎃 A mysterious, cloaked visitor has emerged from the museum vaults, taking us back centuries to look at how North Herts locals used to deal with the threat of witches... 🧙‍♀️

In this episode, we dive deep into the archives to show off two fascinating, protective artefacts: a historic knife blade and padlock. Both were found in Halls Green in Weston, where they had been hidden away inside the hollow of a cottage wall some 300 years ago — deliberately placed there by terrified residents to keep witches out! 🗡️🔒

Behind the scenes, our team has been discovering all kinds of spooky items like these whilst preparing over 1 million objects for the move to our brand-new store. Plan your visit today to discover these bizarre and brilliant pieces of our local heritage! 💜

As always, you can head over to the North Herts Museum website to explore our collections up close and track each of our featured items on the District Treasures map 👇
