Building Stronger Communities Together: Barratt Homes Supports Re-engage with £1,500 Community Fund Donation.
At Regenerage we know that tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people is a challenge that requires communities to come together. That is why we were delighted to welcome Lee Bowers from Barratt Homes to our head office, where he presented the charity with a generous £1,500 donation through the Barratt Homes Community Fund.
This valued contribution will help us continue our work connecting older people with their communities through friendship, social activities and meaningful human connection.
At a time when many older people are experiencing increasing levels of loneliness, support from organisations such as Barratt Homes plays an important role in helping us to reach those who need us most.
The support of local businesses is about far more than financial assistance. It
demonstrates a commitment to creating positive change within the communities where they operate.
By investing in local charities and community organisations, businesses can help strengthen social networks, improve wellbeing and contribute to a more
connected society.
Barratt Homes' donation is an excellent example of Social Value in action. Social Value is about recognising the wider benefits that organisations can bring to communities beyond their core business activities. Whether through charitable giving, volunteering, partnerships or community engagement, actions like this help create lasting positive outcomes for people and places.
Partnerships between charities and businesses are increasingly important in addressing social challenges. By working together, we can amplify our impact, reach more people and create stronger, more resilient communities for everyone.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Barratt Homes for their generosity and commitment to supporting older people. Their contribution will help us continue creating opportunities for friendship, connection and companionship for older people across the UK.
Together, we can ensure that no older person feels disconnected from the community around them.

Celebrating the people who make a difference.
As part of national volunteers week and our Sapphire anniversary celebrations, yesterday Regenerage was delighted to welcome volunteers, staff and special guests to our Lostock Hall Activity Centre for a special afternoon of appreciation and celebration.
The event was dedicated to recognising the incredible individuals who generously give their time, energy and compassion to support older people across our communities.
Volunteers enjoyed refreshments, cake, a quiz and most importantly, the opportunity to connect, share experiences and celebrate their achievements together.
We were honoured to be joined by the newly appointed Mayor of South Ribble and the Mayoress who helped us acknowledge the invaluable contribution volunteers make to strengthening local communities throughout the year.
Each Volunteer received a personalised certificate and a small token of appreciation but the real celebration was recognising the lasting impact they have on the lives of older people every day.
This year is particularly special as we celebrate our 45th anniversary. For more than four decades volunteers have played a vital role in helping older people to stay connected, active and independent. The support continues to help us build stronger, more connected communities where people can age positively and live well.
A huge thank you to every Volunteer who has been part of our journey. Your contribution makes a lasting difference.

This week at Regenerage we’ve been proudly celebrating Dementia Action Week with our beautiful Memory Trees displayed in our Activity Centres and at our Middlebrook store.
Our Memory Trees have given our service users the opportunity to share a special memory, thoughtful reflection or meaningful message, creating a lovely visual reminder of the moments and people that shape us.
Throughout the week we have been focusing on memories through the decades, with each day themed around a different era. We’ve enjoyed so many wonderful activities including:
Creating our “All The Pieces That Make Us” display board.
Playing Guess Who by matching childhood photos to current faces
Hosting a fun carnival day with traditional games, refreshments, crafts and even some clown visitors.
Sharing memories through crafts including our fingerprint Forget-Me-Nots.
It’s been a week full of laughter, reminiscing and connection; celebrating the importance of memories and the stories that make us who we are.
If you or someone you know would benefit from friendship, activities and support, we currently have places available at our Activity Centres in Bamber Bridge and Fulwood.
Please get in touch to find out more; we’d love to welcome you! Contact us on 01772 552850 or email us at [email protected]

This week (18th–24th May) is Dementia Action Week 2026; a time to raise awareness, encourage understanding and stand together with everyone affected by dementia.
As a charity supporting older people, with a strong emphasis on dementia care and support, this week is especially important to us. Every day we see the impact dementia can have; not only on those living with it, but also on their carers, families and loved ones.
Throughout the week, our activity centres are hosting a variety of activities designed to celebrate our wonderful service users, spark conversation, create joyful moments and help reduce the stigma surrounding dementia. Today at our Charnley Fold, Bamber Bridge Activity Centre activities have been centred around today being World Bee Day as we celebrate the birthday of Anton Jansa, pioneer of modern bee-keeping.
Dementia Action Week is a reminder that no one should face dementia alone. By raising awareness and encouraging understanding, we can help build more dementia-friendly communities where people are treated with compassion, dignity and respect.
To all of our service users, carers, families, staff and supporters, thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we DO make a difference.
