LAST CHANCE TO VISIT!
This weekend is your last chance to visit our museum this year. After this weekend we will be closed over the winter until next year so if you were planning a visit this year now is your chance. If you miss us don't fret, our open air site is open all year round and we have a virtual museum on our website where you can learn more about some of our collection. There's also plenty going on over winter with a series of talks held just across the road in Wall Village Hall where you can learn more about the past and archaeology of the surrounding area (see our website for details).
*Please note that as part of our site is an open air site that weather appropriate clothing and footwear is advised. Since this weekend is looking to be a wet one make sure you wrap up warm and wear a coat.

If you haven't visited our museum yet this year, don't worry there is still time to do so. We will be open this weekend and October 24th & 25th after which our museum will close for the season to reopen again next year.

However, our open air site is open all year round and we have a virtual museum on our website too where you can also find details of all our opening dates and other events throughout the year.

Behind every artefact on display lies a great deal of care and conservation work. On 10th April 2026, we were delighted to welcome conservators Wendy Richardson and Connie Tang from English Heritage for one of their regular visits to the museum. Working alongside Friends of Letocetum conservation volunteer, Al Howard, the visit focused on ensuring that our Roman collections continue to be preserved to the highest standards.

Read more about it on our blog, which includes a couple of interesting videos shot on the day.

What do you do when you have a site that is suffering damage from years of unchecked moss growth? The answer is simple: you train a bunch of willing volunteers to tackle the problem themselves. The article on the following link was published in the English Heritage Communities Newsletter, and was written by Ian Davies, one of our volunteers. It's now on our website for everyone to have a look at.
