🔥 A small issue can become a serious problem when an emergency calls for immediate access.

During a recent dry riser service, we found that a fire hose coupling could not correctly fit onto one of the non-return valves on the inlet breeching because the valve had become distorted and out of shape.

This is exactly why thorough inspection matters. Every component needs to be checked to ensure the system is accessible, functional and ready when it is needed most. 🚒🔧

🛠️ Maintain regularly

🔔 When Was Your Fire Alarm Last Checked?

Your fire alarm system is one of the most important life safety systems in your building. Regular testing helps identify faults early and ensures occupants receive a warning in the event of a fire.

Best practice includes:

✅ Weekly testing of a manual call point on rotation

✅ Checking alarm sounders operate correctly

✅ Recording tests in the fire logbook

✅ Promptly investigating faults

✅ Regular servicing by a competent fire alarm engineer

Routine testing and maintenance are key elements of compliance with BS 5839-1 and support the responsible person's duties under UK fire safety legislation.

Don't wait for an emergency to discover a problem.
