Parents and carers of neurodivergent children aged 5-10 may be eligible for free support through the EPIC Think Learn programme, funded by the Scottish Government.

The programme offers practical guidance, expert-led webinars, access to a supportive online community, and resources to help families better understand and support their child both at home and in school.

Martyn Day MSP has described Syngenta’s announcement that it intends to cease operations at its Grangemouth site, putting 377 jobs at risk, as another devastating blow for the local community.
He expressed his concern for the workers and their families, recognising that behind every job is a household facing uncertainty. The consequences will also extend to local suppliers, businesses and the wider Grangemouth economy.

Mr Day firmly opposes the proposed closure and is calling for the consultation period to provide a meaningful opportunity to challenge the decision and investigate every option to retain employment at the site. He will continue to press Syngenta to reconsider.

He is also demanding that the UK Labour Government urgently deliver the £200 million it promised to support Grangemouth. Following Economy Secretary Stephen Flynn’s statement that not a penny had been delivered, Mr Day said that hundreds more jobs being put at risk made immediate action essential. Grangemouth needs the funding it was promised, alongside a concerted effort to protect employment and secure its industrial future.

At Westminster the chaos continues. We are now waiting for the seventh UK Prime Minister in just ten years, and yet another one who will enter Downing Street without their own electoral mandate. And before he has even taken office, Andy Burnham is already telling Scotland what we cannot do. He has ruled out another independence referendum, despite Scotland electing a Parliament with a clear mandate for one.
