Nearly 7,000 miles of road resurfacing – the equivalent of travelling between London and Singapore – will be completed this year across the UK. Data also shows that councils are starting to properly invest in their roads with £4.9 billion total being spent this year, £800 million more than before this government came to power.

These record figures show that the government’s £7.3 billion in funding for road maintenance is starting to deliver better roads for communities, helping the average driver save up to nearly £600 pounds on costly repairs.

A new dental practice in Littlehampton has officially opened its doors, welcoming new NHS patients.

Across Surrey and Sussex, more than 1.74 million courses of NHS dental treatment were delivered in 2025/26 – that's an increase of over 134,000 on the previous year.

Urgent dental care has also increased, with more than 156,000 urgent treatments provided, around 17,000 more than in 2024/25.

A new NHS dental practice set to open in Bognor Regis soon, too.

Labour promised to build a more inclusive education system where children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to thrive, with better cooperation between schools, local authorities and health services.

Now West Sussex County Council has secured £182.7 million in Government funding following approval of its SEND Reform Plan, developed jointly with NHS Surrey and Sussex.

The funding will cover 90% of the council’s existing SEND-related deficit, helping provide greater financial stability while supporting efforts to improve outcomes for children and young people across our county.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, develop and thrive. This is an important step in the right direction for West Sussex. ❤️

Access is set to improve further here, with two new NHS dental practices due to open this autumn in Littlehampton and Bognor Regis.

That means more NHS dental care and more opportunities for people to get the treatment they need when they need it.

The response that Clare has received from so many attacking our wonderful RNLI volunteers is deeply depressing. Although many of the comments are probably bots, a large number are from people clearly denigrating the great work of the RNLI saving lives at sea. Luckily, we know that most people in our constituency would disagree with these comments. We have spoken to enough people on the doorstep to know how kind and tolerant the majority of our local people are. To the rest - shame on you.
