On this day in 1969, John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band began recording 'Give Peace a Chance'.
On display at Strawberry Field is a rare vinyl acetate of 'Give Peace a Chance' and 'Remember Love' that was gifted to The Salvation Army by Yoko Ono and Sean Ono Lennon. The acetate sits in our exhibition as a symbol of peace and love, and helps us raise funds for our Steps at Strawberry Field programmes.

Throughout May, we left the grass bank behind our carpark to grow wild for the benefit of butterflies, bugs birds and bees.
By letting the grass grow long, we have encouraged the growth of native wildflowers such as daisies, dandelions and buttercups. These flowers are not only beautiful but also essential nectar sources for pollinators.
With pollinators in steep decline across the UK, actions like No Mow May are so important in creating habitats and reversing the loss of wildflower-rich spaces.

Own a piece of the original Victorian Strawberry Field - the building that stood when John Lennon played in its gardens.
The bricks have been reclaimed from the original Victorian Salvation Army children’s home and are presented in an outer box, embossed with a hologram.
Profits fund our Steps at Strawberry Field programmes, supporting young adults who face barriers to employment, including those with learning differences and who are neurodivergent, to find paid work and help keep our famous 'gates open for good'.
