It is with great sadness that we share the news that Edmund J Crighton passed away last week.

He was a much-loved and respected English teacher, as well as one of the school’s Senior Leaders from 1980 to 2009. He had a positive impact on many students, and Old Blues who visit the school from that period regularly mention him by name.

Our thoughts are with his family.

The funeral will take place in Preston; further details will be confirmed in due course.

Alongside a form photo from 1984, his leaving note from the 2009 edition of the Squirrel is included below.

✨🙏 Old Blue, Barry Nixon, one of our most senior alumni at the remarkable age of 92, is an exceptionally talented craftsman. He has lovingly carved a beautiful statue of Jesus in memory of his beloved wife, Florence, who sadly passed away three years ago today. 🤍

Barry has generously donated this meaningful piece to the school, and we are honoured to display it at the entrance of the Chapel for all visitors to admire.🌿✨

Barry attended the school in the 1940's and was one of the students evacuated to Beaumaris during the war.
