Today The Director of Music, The Bandmaster and The Band Permanent Staff Instructor attend the final recital of one of our newest members of the band.

Musician Charlie C performed an interesting and technically challenging programme of music to an appreciative audience at The Tung Theatre, Liverpool.

His choice of music was not only a treat musically but visually creative, with an effective use of lighting.

Many congratulations from all members of the band.

To follow in Charlie’s footsteps in joining our band, please email [email protected] for more information.

The final video of our trilogy of combined concert videos from Mesnes Park in Wigan, Sunday 26 April 2026.

It was honestly a great concert packed with music for all tastes and just such the best audience.

All three conductors were in action, namely Major Guy B, Captain Dario S and finally the smallest in height by far, Warrant Officer Class One (BM) Gavin H.

Interesting unknown fact from this concert, apart from the Bandmasters height, was that all three conductors can play the double bass but two better than one. How interesting indeed!

We hope to see you all again in Wigan and thank you for your very warm welcome.

The combined bands and The 4th Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment were thrilled by the fantastic welcome they received in Leyland upon being awarded the Freedom of the Borough of South Ribble on Saturday 25 April 2026.

It was a great honour to be inspected by the Mayor, Cllr Paul Wharton-Hardman BEM, alongside the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Caleb Tomlinson, and the MP for South Ribble, Paul Foster.

The combined bands provided a suitable musical backdrop to the occasion on such a sunny day.

Thank you to Lancashire Police and Lancashire Mounted Police for ensuring everyone’s safety throughout the day.

The regiment was especially proud to have their cadets in attendance; they are a credit to the Regiment.

A huge thank you to South Ribble Borough Council for hosting such a memorable occasion, and to everyone who came along to show their support, your presence truly made the day even more special!

Video number 2 from our combined concert with our colleagues from the Lancashire Artillery Band at Mesnes Park Wigan on Sunday 26 April 2026.

A great varied collection of music was performed on the day picked by both Directors of Music.

A little bit of the Beatles in this video alongside the end of African Symphony by Van McCoy who also composed the ā€˜Hustle’.

We hope you enjoyed this video and please do share freely.

If you’re interested in a part time career as a musician in either band then do drop us a message on here to either band accounts.

Director of Music, Captain Dario Salvi.

It is with great pleasure to announce officially on here to all our fans and followers that as of last week Lieutenant Salvi was promoted to Captain Salvi.

I am sure you would like to join us in sending our warmest congratulations to Captain Salvi on his well deserved promotion.

Well done sir, as you continue to live by our regimental motto, ā€œNec Aspera Terrent", which is Latin for "Difficulties be Damned"
