📢 Local elections will be taking place in Knowsley on Thursday 7 May 2026. Here's the deadlines you need to be aware of:-

📆 You must be registered to vote to take part in the local elections. The deadline to register is Monday 20 April 2026.
📆 The deadline to submit your application for a postal vote or a postal proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026.
📆 The deadline to submit an application for a proxy vote is 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
📆 The deadline to apply for free voter ID is 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
✉️ On Thursday 7 May 2026, polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm. As long as you are in the queue by 10pm, you will be able to vote.

🌳A scheme to transform the play facilities at Knowsley Village Recreation Ground has been unveiled following a funding boost.

✅ A grant of £75,000 has been awarded by Veolia Environmental Trust (part of the Landfill Communities Fund) towards the re-development of play facilities at the recreation ground, following a successful funding bid by Knowsley Council in partnership with the Friends of Knowsley Village Recreation Ground and Green Spaces and Knowsley Town Council. The Veolia Environmental Trust

🛝The improvements will include replacing aging play equipment with a suite of modern play facilities serving toddlers and younger children, as well as older age groups up to 13 years. There's also accessible play equipment for children with different needs.

❗ ‘We’re not messin’ when it comes to keeping our borough clean.

👉 Knowsley Council’s new in-house Environmental Enforcement Team will be patrolling the borough – at the forefront of efforts to tackle fly tipping, littering and dog fouling.

The team will be out and about in the community, patrolling hotspots and responding to reports of environmental crimes.

We’ll be taking action against those caught:
- Littering = £150 fine
- Not cleaning up dog fouling = £150
- Fly tipping = £400 fine (minimum) and a possible prison sentence
