Working parent funding codes must be applied for before 31st March to be able to claim funding between April – August.


If you have a child who turned 2 between January – March, they may be entitled to early learning for 2-year old’s childcare funding from April!

Tomorrow is World Book Day - the perfect chance to celebrate reading one page at a time.

Research shows that sharing books with babies supports early brain development, strengthens bonding, and builds the foundations for language and communication. As children grow, regular reading boosts vocabulary, concentration, empathy, and confidence. For teens, reading is linked to better wellbeing, stronger writing skills, and improved academic outcomes.

Here are some free and low‑cost ideas for celebrating World Book Day every age:

For babies: Snuggle up with a board book and talk about the pictures
Visit your local library and get your little one registered

For young children:
Create a World Book Day costume using clothes you already have
Re‑tell a favourite story using toys or drawings
Swap books with friends or neighbours


For teens:
Try a “read for 10 minutes” challenge with a book, comic or graphic novel
Explore free e‑books and audiobooks through the library
Encourage them to pick a story that matches their interests – sport, fantasy, music, mystery

Small, everyday reading moments add up. This World Book Day, let’s make reading joyful, accessible and part of family life across Liverpool.

• The new MMRV vaccination for babies
• The HPV vaccination for adolescents
