The “margin of error” for this figure is 26.2 percent—meaning that between 11.8 percent and 64.2 percent of Aslef members might do so. That’s partly because the number of Aslef members sampled was incredibly small—12.
Unions where a higher number was surveyed have a lower “margin of error”—for example, Unison at 301 is 5.2 percent.
However, this doesn’t mean anti-racists can be complacent as we know from prior polling that support was growing for Reform UK among union members. A Unite union poll showed in 2025 showed 26 percent of its members backing the far right party.":
