Gants Hill station, like another two new stations on the post-war Central Line extension, was designed by architect Charles Holden in the 1930s.

During the 1930s the London Passenger Transport Board had provided advice on the construction of the Moscow Metro and an internal report in 1935 by the Underground's engineers on the Soviet system led to the decision to construct a station in London to a similar design.

Chelsea and Fulham railway station opened in 1863 and closed in 1940.

The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham has the most league/premier football clubs than any other local authority (three) and you’d have to worry about the fate of those big metal signs on match days.

It was situated on the West London Railway, a railway which had been built on the bed of the former Kensington Canal. The canal had replaced the natural waterway, Counter’s Creek and Stamford Bridge was a bridge over that stream
