This Volunteers’ Week, London Colney Parish Council would like to say a huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who give their time, energy and skills to support our community.

From helping at local events and supporting community projects, to caring for our open spaces and assisting local groups, volunteers make a real difference to life in London Colney.

Amber Heat-Health Alert in place – Please look out for one another

With hot weather affecting the area, please take extra care and check in on friends, family, neighbours and anyone who may be more vulnerable, including older people, young children, people with long-term health conditions, and those living alone.

Hot weather can affect health in different ways, including dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Where possible, please encourage people to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day, and keep homes cool by closing curtains or blinds in rooms facing the sun.

If someone feels unwell due to the heat, seek advice from NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999.

Let’s all do what we can to help keep our community safe.

The Splash Park is open 7 days a week (weather depending) from 10am to 6pm. Please note the kiosk will be open daily, but hours will vary.
