Important live session and Q&A with the Leader of Westminster City Council (WCC) 645pm on Monday 26/10 to discuss the Council's response to and the environment.

We've spent four days (another tomorrow!) giving evidence to the Planning Examination on the Emerging City Plan and have been impressed by the Council's willingness to amend draft planning policies to bring to life their declaration of a last September.

We hope their forthcoming Climate Action Plan will match or exceed the City of London Corporation's Climate Action Strategy to achieve net zero by 2027 and 2040 https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/services/environmental-health/climate-action/climate-action-strategy!

Our next event will take place online on Monday 26 October at 6.45pm. This is an unmissable chance to have your questions answered live by the Leader of the Council Rachael Robathan, and Cabinet Members.

Join our live Facebook event later this month to hear about our work addressing climate emergency, improving air quality, boosting recycling, and tackling other environmental issues that affect your life in .

20mph is a safer speed limit than 30mph on roads that are shared by vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. A person hit by a car at 30mph is five times more likely to be killed than one hit at 20mph.

We've introduced 20mph speed limits across the city.

The 'hole in the wall' has reopened and it's beautiful! Works are expected to continue next week on the restoration of both sides of the wall and lighting improvements. These should be completed by Friday 22 May. Please be considerate of each other and the workmen next week when barriers narrow Rutland Street and/or Rutland Mews East at times. Social distancing remains important. The 'hole' itself may need to be closed again (briefly!) e.g. while lighting is replaced on the arch. Westminster City Council. are working tirelessly, during lockdown, to keep SW7 streets spotless despite a tiny number of selfish people dumping rubbish or litter on the streets. Well done!
