Turned my back to her for litterally 1 minute…amongts all books she could pull out of the shelf…she went for these! 😂😂🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️….Yeah Engineering the Future! 👌

Diving into an unusual task for a structural engineer, but a task any beer lover wouldn’t think twice about—whispering that, deep down, they’d do it also for free! 😄

During my travels in the south of Spain last summer, I received a unique call from a London based client, urging me to design the support structure for tanks holding a whopping 4000 liters of crisp and effervescent Estrella beer. The response? An emphatic “Yes” (accompanied by unspoken, heartfelt dedication)!

The task also allowed to learn a few interesting facts and features about the Ledenhall Market complex and hisarticulated underground vaults.
Yesterday, we stepped into the newly opened pub at Ledenhall Market Hall in the city. 🌆 Our hard 🍻work came to life, and we joyfully savored a well-deserved (free) Christmas Beer . 🎄🍺

Congratulations on the near completion of the shell and core works for this exciting project in Hammarsmith led by Sabbadin Corti Architects and impeccably executed by Prime Construction.

The excavation of a full basement level under the existing building structure in this prime Hammersmith residence is quite an impressive feat and did require a careful planning and ex*****on.

AVILAStudio has played a crucial role in assisting the design team by providing services for all Permanent Structures and Civil Works in a fully integrated BIM environment. This coordination between architecture and structures aimed to minimize errors and mistakes during construction, which is commendable.

Furthermore, AVILAStudio has also supported the contractor with specific Contractor Design Portions, by performing additional services such as Temporary Works design and phasing as well as the design, checks, and production of fabrication drawings for all primary steel connections. Their dedication to detail and quality of the ex*****on is evident.

Great work to all the professionals involved!

Even simple structures can be made beautiful when each part is carefully processed and assembled in harmony with their function and hierarchy.
To me this garden balcony detail in a resort in Mauritius exemplifies this concept.
By incorporating thoughtful structural detailing, the garden facade seamlessly blends with nature, creating a harmonious and visually appealing space.
This attention to details and the integration of structure with nature is truly commendable.

🔩 AVILAStudio has played a pivotal role in the intricate structural design of this high-spec residential refurbishment in Hammersmith, London, masterfully designed by the talented architectural firm Sabbadincorti . This remarkable project demanded a comprehensive excavation for a full basement extension, seamlessly integrated within an underpinning sequence of works. Additionally, extensive layout modifications were executed on all floors to accommodate a vertical circulation stair, a home lift, a loft, and an outrigger pod extension. 🏗️

Engaged as both the permanent and temporary works engineers, AVILAStudio's expertise has proven invaluable in ensuring the construction's viability. Our deep involvement in BIM technology allowed us to diligently identify crucial coordination points and suggest the smoother construction sequence, following a meticulous 3D review of the proposed solutions. 💡

“The 45 days that saved the La Becca bridge”

It still arouses many and vivid emotions to retrace those very intense days, starting from a late and cold November 2010, of which only years later it was possible to really understand the great and extraordinary importance from an engineering, civil and social point of view!

Last week, the team at AVILAStudio delivered the Stage 2 design package for this stunning town block located in Bayswater, facing Kensington Gardens 🏢.
This historic building, which contributes to the architectural heritage of the Bayswater Conservation Area, was originally built for residential use but will soon be transformed into an establishment for an international community of professionals, students, and priests 🌃.
The main structural alterations include new lift and stair cores, strengthening of existing timber floors, rearrangement of load-bearing walls layout together with a two-story rear and roof extension.
We're so excited to see our proposed solutions taking shape and to move onto a more detailed phase of the design as the first site stripping-out activities begin in the coming month.

Structural design and dynamic analysis of steel plated stairs for a luxury villa in Miami U.S.A. Location and main clients confidential due to their public visibility…(we don’t know their names either 🤷🏻‍♂️)

Directly appointed by an Italian steel stair contractor, services involved the design of two helicoidal steel-plated stairs with timber thread finishes and structural steel parapets.

Floor to floor heights of about 3.5m and 4.5m respectively, both composed of two flights.

S275JR steel with folded thread plates welded to structural parapets, bolted together in sections and anchored to reinforced concrete floors/landings

Stress analysis to comply with both European and American standards.
Vibration analysis to comply to the latest state of the art Comfort criteria for induced vertical vibrations on steel staircases.

Design recently accepted with no further comments 👌💪✔️
