What a brilliant response! Thank you everyone. This is a lovely community.

We've raised £250 in 3 days.. shall we do a bit more?

If we can raise another £200, we will also order bulbs (bluebells, wood anemones and aconites) and get a soil test for the meadow. (Knowing the pH and nutrient levels will help us develop a mix of plants that work together and are suited to the site).
