UK Parliament Week is an annual event that aims to inspire interest in parliament, politics and democracy. It also serves to encourage young people and the public to engage with the UK's democratic system and institutions.
I was invited to Moss Park Primary School today, to take part in the school's UK Parliament Week activities. The children asked me questions about my role as their MP. I also met with the School Council and I was able to present each elected member with a badge.
I believe that it's important that everybody has their say, which is why it's so great to see young people in my constituency engaging with politics during .

Today I met Year 6 pupils at Urmston Primary School. They asked me to come in, because they are writing letters to Rishi Sunak, to ask him to support their pledges to reduce the impact of climate change.
During the visit, the children asked me a range of brilliant questions. It was great to meet them and to chat to them about my role as their MP.

It was wonderful to see our brilliant foster carers receiving long-service awards at the Foster Carer Annual Award Ceremony earlier this week. We have some wonderful foster carers, who do amazing work to support children and young people within Trafford.

I visited Club 3000 Bingo Old Trafford, where I chatted to the management team about their plans for the year ahead. I also got to speak to plenty of constituents during my visit and Dave the Bingo Caller allowed me to call the Earlies!

I recently visited Delamere School in Flixton, to discuss their concerns around SEND provision and SEND funding.
Many local authorities have growing budget deficits when it comes to SEND provision and it’s estimated that by March 2025, the cumulative deficit across England with be £2.5bn.
Delamere School provides education for some of the most vulnerable children in Stretford and Urmston. The team does an exceptional job, despite the financial challenges they face.

On Sunday, I saw a preview of The Kathleen Project, at Stitched Up in Stretford Mall. This exhibition explores the history of the garment trade in Greater Manchester, and it features personal stories from local workers.
The Kathleen Project is open to the public from today and I would highly recommend dropping by if you’re able to.
The exhibition is open from 12pm-4pm, until Sunday 17 September. It is free to attend, and you don't need to book a ticket.
