Thank you to every resident who joined our Hoe Street Community Ward Form public meeting.

We discussed:

♻️ Installing solar panels within the conservation area.
🛑 Tackling anti-social behaviour.
🏘️ Funding community-led projects across the ward.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by today’s fire. Thank you to the emergency services, Waltham Forest Islamic Association and everyone at St. Mary’s Church.

There are refreshments and further information available to evacuated residents at the St. Mary’s Welcome Centre. Please do reach out if there’s anything that we can do to be of support.

If you have not been impacted by the fire, please avoid the Wood Street area to allow the emergency services to continue their vital work.

If you have been affected by this evening’s fire near Wood Street in , St Mary’s Church is open and is willing to support you in whatever way we can. Please do come to church if you have been impacted. Stella Creasy

Ward walks are a regular opportunity for local councillors to raise particular issues and areas with council officers.

Last week we held our first ward walk since the local elections. It was great to be joined by Cllr Paul Perkins and officers.

Thank you to every resident who has reached out to us about local issues. We raised your concerns with the Leader of the council including:

🏚️ The disused pub on Pembroke Road. If insufficient progress continues to be made, we are pushing for a compulsory purchase order from the council.

⚡️ Illegally modified electric bikes across the ward. We would like to see joint operations with the police and council officers continue.

🚗 Parking issues on Tower Hamlets road.

🏘️ A number of issues on Clarendon Road, from speeding to ASB.

🚨 Drug dealing in Poet’s Corner and across the ward.

… And more!

We were also able to talk about the things that make Hoe Street ward special. From our ward’s wonderful gardening groups to our traffic calming measures and the amazing work done by the Waltham Forest Hub.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Happy Pride Month!

Waltham Forest Labour will always fight to ensure that our borough is a place where every resident can be their true and authentic self.

In power, Waltham Forest Labour worked to prioritise inclusivity, making Pride an annual official civic event with significant Council support in 2022. We’re proud to have collaborated with local organisations to create a true celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community which also recognises that the fight for equality continues.

Our borough must always be a trans-inclusive space that celebrates and champions our LGBTQIA+ residents.

Update: Noise disturbance in Hoe Street ward

Thank you to everyone who raised a continuous and distressing noise disturbance across Hoe Street ward yesterday.

As local councillors, we raised this with council officers as a matter of urgency. Thankfully the noise has now ended and I can confirm that it was caused by a mechanical fault at the Eades.

Council officers liaised with the building management to resolve the mechanical fault yesterday afternoon. Hopefully everyone should be able to enjoy a more peaceful nights ahead!
