Spen Valley Reform UK
Real change for Cleckheaton, Heckmondwike, Liversedge, Mirfield, Gomersal, Kirkheaton, Birkenshaw & Birstall. Itβs time to Reform.
Putting our local community first! Promoted by Reform UK Spen Valley, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London SW1P 4QP
I have a feeling in the Kirklees Chamber we are about to observe agreement ending where ideologies start too! The x31 informal coalition currently resisting the the largest reform party group forming an administration appears to be showing the hairline cracks.

Yes we were starting to wonder whether the local democracy reporter for Yorkshire live was politically biassed. It seems to have taken quite a long time for the real story to surface. However, our voters are clear, we trust them and they trust us.
ποΈπ£οΈ An online debate has erupted across Kirklees following a chaotic annual council meeting that ended in stalemate.
The local political map was heavily shaken up in the recent elections, bringing 43 brand-new councillors into the chamber.
Tensions quickly flared during the leadership vote when Reform UK Group Leader, Sarah Wood, openly admitted that many of the newly elected members felt completely confused by the agenda and did not fully understand what they were voting for.
The frank admission sparked fierce criticism from political opponents, with Green Party Leader Andrew Cooper questioning whether the new representatives possess the necessary understanding required to govern local services effectively.
However, hundreds of local residents have flooded social media to defend the newcomers, calling for patience and kindness from long-serving politicians.
Supporters argue that every novice councillor has a learning curve and that dismissive attitudes only alienate the voters who actively chose to elect these fresh faces.
However, not all views were as positive. Some said the lack of preparation was "insufficient", suggesting Reform UK should stand down their proposals to run the council instead of "muddying through".

Nine years ago, a night that should have been filled with music, laughter and memories became one of the darkest moments in modern British history.
22 innocent people were murdered in the Manchester Arena terror attack. Many more were physically and emotionally scarred for life.
Tonight, we pause to remember every victim, every survivor, every family forever changed by that act of evil.
Among the heartbreak, the people of Manchester showed extraordinary courage and humanity. Strangers carried the injured to safety. Emergency workers ran towards danger. Families opened their homes to those stranded and afraid.
The spirit of Manchester could not be broken.
May the 22 souls taken that night rest peacefully, and may their memories live on forever in the hearts of the nation. β€οΈπΉ

Today we remember Lee Rigby, whose life was tragically taken on 22nd May 2013 in an act of terrorism that shocked the nation.
Lee was a son, a father, a friend, and a proud British soldier who served his country with honour. Thirteen years on, his loss is still deeply felt by his loved ones and by many across the United Kingdom.
Today is not about politics. It is about remembrance, respect, and recognising the human cost of hatred and violence.
May we never forget Lee Rigby, and may his family continue to find strength in the love and support shown in his memory.
Rest in Peace, Fusilier Lee Rigby. π¬π§
Reform UK are real people, from the world of common sense and real life
We are not polished career politicians, expert in council constitutions from day one
The behaviour of opposition councillors, in sedentary positions proves why our country needs reform. Rather than be helpful, they chucked insults at us - treating us with disdain, just like theyβve treated the people of Kirklees with disdain for years
We look forward to the next meeting where we hope colleagues will favour duty over petty politics in the best interests of the people we were elected to serve
