Know the symptoms of bowel cancer?

This could be blood in your poo, pain or bloating in your tummy or changes in your poo that are not usual for you.

If experiencing any of these for three weeks or more, contact your GP practice.

We would like to extend our warmest wishes to all staff and community celebrating Eid al-Adha this week.

Did you know that the bowel cancer screening kit could save your life? Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, and the earlier it's found the more treatable it's likely to be.

The free test detects signs of cancer before you notice anything wrong, the kit can be completed in the privacy of your own bathroom, a few simple steps and a tiny sample is all it takes.

The FIT kit is free and is sent in the post to people aged 50-74 who are registered with a GP in England, every two years. So if you’re sent a bowel cancer screening kit, please return your bowel test kit.

It could save your life.

Congratulations to Arsenal on their long awaited Premier League win!

We could hear the community celebrating from wherever we were across our boroughs and high spirits are continuing across Whittington Health for many!

Arsenal are long time supporters of our Whittington Health Trust and Charity, congratulations to them and all our patients and residents who support them.

We are expecting to see a long weekend of events and sunshine. Whether you are celebrating or commiserating, remember to stay safe and hydrated.

We were delighted to be featured on the 6.30pm BBC News London bulletin on Thursday 14 May. The segment coincided with NHS England's annual performance data release, revealing the capital’s health service has ended 2025/26 financial year in its strongest position in years.

Here at Whittington Health NHS Trust, we are proud to be one of the top performing NHS Trusts. Our Chief Operating Officer, Chinyama Okunuga was interviewed about the incredible extra work our staff put in, which saw just over 5,500 local people removed from waiting lists for planned care as part of “sprints” that saw additional clinics take place in the evenings and weekends across February and March.

We couldn't be more proud of our teams for pulling together to achieve this fantastic result!

Happy International Nurses Day!

Last week, to mark both International Nurses Day and International Day of the Midwife, we held our annual celebration day to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary work nurses and midwives do throughout our Trust - and all over the world - every single day.

The day included cakes delivered to nurses and midwives on our wards, stalls in our hospital atrium, and ended with our annual award ceremony.

Thank you to all the nurses and midwives at Whittington Health for your dedication and commitment to providing excellent care, every day 💙

Our thoughts are with those affected by yesterday's attack in Golders Green. At times like these it is more important than ever to unite and remember that In London, hate will never win.

That is why we are supporting Mayor of London in spreading an important message.

Whilst we come from all over the world, from every religious background, and every walk of life:

In London, everyone is loved and wanted
