Week is a celebration for every sector. From school libraries nurturing young readers to health libraries providing vital evidence for clinicians. Whatever your collection or community, take part and share your stories and events: https://www.cilip.org.uk/page/libraries-change-lives

Over the years, Libraries Week has moved on from just being a moment in the calendar, it has become something much more significant — a platform for the entire library community to demonstrate its value, tell its stories and make the case for sustained investment and recognition.

This year's theme, Libraries Change Lives through literacy and reading, reflects something we in the profession know to be true and that the wider public deserves to understand. Libraries are not passive repositories. They are active agents of change.

's week gives us the language and the momentum to amplify the message on a national scale.

We look forward to seeing the profession come together once again — to celebrate, to advocate and to remind the country that libraries are not just buildings. They are among the most important civic institutions we have.

In this episode of The Info Pro Podcast, hosts Rob Green and Naomi Korn welcome Andrew Burgess, AI Strategist and founder of Greenhouse AI, to look at how copyright and AI can function together.

They question where AI fits in the complex copyright picture. Is it a disruptive influence that will change the very nature of how we understand copyright or is it just a tool that will have little impact on a legal framework that has been around for hundreds of years?

You can also join Naomi and Andrew on 4 June for the CILIP/Naomi Korn Associates Copyright Conference 2026. Sign up here: https://www.cilip.org.uk/page/CopyrightConf26
