In 2017, despite the short timeframe of the snap election, we were delighted to enable Year 9 students in Croydon North and St Helen's North to broadcast highly professional YouTube debates between the actual candidates in their constituencies. As the hosts from St Joseph's mention in this video https://youtu.be/HNAvY_X0PM4, we had representation from all of the parties (which wasn't the case in some of the national TV debates last time).
Unfortunately, our project lead is teaching in Poland this year, and so we can't run any SeeHearVote projects this time. However, we'd be delighted to advise any schools or community groups on how you might go about running your own; as well as being an amazing experience for the young people involved, it makes a tremendous contribution to the democratic process by enabling all constituents to see the actual politicians who want to represent your area debating each other.

Our second election debate will be livestreamed from Hope Academy in St Helen's North (by a team of Year 7-10s) on Friday, 26 May at 10.20am.
Confirmed participants so far are:
• Conor McGinn for St Helens North (Labour)
• Thomas Morrison (Liberal Democrat)
• Jackson Ng - Theresa May's Local Candidate for St Helens North (Conservative)
• Rachel Parkinson (Green)
Participation of Peter Peers (UKIP) is yet to be confirmed. We'll update you with more news as we have it.

Our first live election debate – from the constituency of Croydon North – will be hosted, moderated and broadcast* by Year 9s from St Joseph's College this Friday (19 May) at 10.20am.
Confirmed candidates taking part are:
• Alex Davies (Liberal Democrat candidate for Streatham, standing in for Croydon North candidate John Pindar)
• Samuel Kasumu (Conservative)
• Steve Reed (Labour)
• Peter Underwood for Croydon North (Green Party)
Involvement of UKIP and Independent candidates is yet to be confirmed. We'll update you with further news as we have it.
