This year’s Migrant Workers’ Day celebration in London was a meaningful tribute to the resilience, dedication, and achievements of our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) under the theme “Bayan, Bayani, Bayanihan.”

A highlight of the event was the Graduation Ceremony of the OWWA London Skills Acquisition and Enhancement Training Program, where our OFWs proudly received their Certificates of Completion after successfully completing various skills training courses. These trainings represent more than just acquired skills—they are investments in future opportunities, sustainable livelihoods, and successful reintegration back home in the Philippines.

The celebration also served as a reminder that every OFW is a modern-day hero whose sacrifices, perseverance, and hard work continue to uplift families, strengthen communities, and contribute to nation-building.

Adding warmth and fellowship to the occasion was the Migrants Brew Corner, where participants connected over coffee, shared stories, and strengthened bonds within the Filipino community. The celebration continued with fun games and exciting activities that filled the day with laughter, camaraderie, and the true spirit of Bayanihan.

Together, we continue to uphold the values of Kalinga, Kaalaman, at Kabuhayan—caring for our migrant workers, equipping them with knowledge and skills, and empowering them toward a brighter and more secure future.

Congratulations to all our graduates!

Happy Migrant Workers’ Day to all our OFWs.

OWWA Anniversary Celebration in London: Road to 50 Years of Care, Commitment, and Service to OFWs and their Families

A modest yet meaningful celebration of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Anniversary was successfully held on 03 May 2026 at Warwick Community Hall, London, attended by around 80 migrant workers and OWWA members.

The activity served as a celebration of OWWA’s continuing commitment to protect and promote the welfare and interests of OFWs and their families through responsive programs and services.

Labor Attaché Ma. Nena G. German graced the event and shared a meaningful reflection on the history and beginnings of OWWA, taking participants on a trip down memory lane as the agency continues its Road to 50 years of dedicated public service.

Welfare Officer Sheila Mae J. Aguilar provided an orientation on OWWA programs and services and highlighted the benefits of the OWWA e-Card, including partner establishments offering exclusive perks and discounts to active OWWA members and e-Card holders.

The Financial Literacy Seminar was facilitated by OWWA Officer Margie F. Ungson, who discussed practical financial management topics including budgeting and saving, managing debt, and investment basics to help empower OFWs toward financial stability and preparedness.

As part of the event, OWWA Membership Processing was also conducted, where around 20 OFWs successfully registered/renewed their membership.

The celebration also featured token distribution, raffle draws, and concluded with a fellowship salo-salo among attendees.

OWWA London extends its sincere appreciation to all OFWs and OWWA members, community partners, and participants who joined this meaningful milestone as we continue our shared journey toward 50 years of care, commitment, and service to OFWs and their families.
