📚 Teens Creative Writing Club – Manor House Library

📍Manor House Library

The Manor House Library Teens Creative Writing Club is back for 2026/2027! This free group is for writers aged 14-18 and is open to any experience level. Join us from 5-7pm in the Baring Room at Manor House Library on the first Thursday of each month for free creative writing workshops.

What can you expect?

- A quick warm-up
- Reading a few examples (distributed on the night)
- A casual conversation about form, technique, emotion, and other aspects of writing (we want to hear your opinions!)
- Time to write in the company of others
- Snacks & tea
- Opportunities for workshopping & peer feedback throughout the year

Last year, our writers had the opportunity to include work in a published pamphlet and perform at a showcase event, and we hope to do the same this year! Whether you’re a seasoned writer or you’ve never written outside of school, all are welcome.

This is not a revision group or homework club! We’re here to write creatively, outside the bounds of a school curriculum. We read great examples of (mostly) contemporary writing in many different genres, styles, and forms. There is no homework or advance reading. All materials are provided, and the group is completely free. We welcome writing in all forms and genres.

For questions and access needs, please contact Mariana via [email protected]

Celebrating the incredible diversity, design and culture of London’s public houses from opulent Victorian Gin Palaces and homely medieval Taverns to contemporary Micropubs and community-owned breweries, they cover 121 pubs across all the London boroughs with original drawings and photography.

"America, América" traverses half a millennium, from the Spanish Conquest to the coups and revolutions of the twentieth century, revealing how the Americas emerged from constant, turbulent engagement with each other.

Comprehensive and accessible, Pulitzer Prize–winning historian Greg Grandin's work shows how the United States and Latin America together shaped the laws, institutions and ideals that govern the modern world. Drawing on a vast array of sources, this is a genuinely new history of the Western hemisphere.

Newly translated into English, "The Acrobat" collects some of the best work of Nobel Prize winning poet Wislawa Szymborska. Written during the years of Soviet occupation in Poland, the poems in the collection are rooted in the pains and joys of everyday life, asking what it means to survive conflict and go on living in it's aftermath.
