What a lovely half term! We managed to go rockpooling & I can’t decide which was my favourite find… what do you think?

Don’t worry - we aren’t! They’re very busy doing their own thing to bother us. Their nest will only be here for the summer and then the new queens will overwinter/hibernate. They are wonderful to watch whilst they’re here though! 🥰

I also am fully Forest school trained if you have a base on-site. Alternatively we have a local wildlife session which includes a selection from my pond & garden as well as their bigger exotic cousins. 🪲 🐌 🦎

My son celebrated his birthday at school but totally threw me when I asked what he did by saying ‘we watched a story about the boy…you know, the one who turned 100!’ A great reminder that we were all kids once - and this is the time to inspire them about nature 🥰

The season of stagbeetles has started! Don’t forget you don’t need many sticks to make a den - could be a den for a fairy or beetle?
